We care for our environment:
Afri Foam can use environmentally friendly Polyurethane foam that contains a minimum of CFs.
All paints used in the process are water-based paint.
Reduction of CO2 emissions.
The proof is in the data
In 2011, Afri Foam has insulated 1 of 2 Poultry houses with Polyurethane foam. Each poultry house is approximately 1200m in size. Data of 3 difference cycles was collected.
Results: The coal used was as follows
Poultry House 1 - No insulation = Used 15 tons of coal during one cycle
Poultry House 2 - Insulated with 20 mm nominal thickness Polyurethane foam = Only used 5 tons of coal during one cycle.
There was a saving of 10 tons of coal. Coal's price differs from area to area but the specific farmer paid R1,000.00 per ton; he therefore saved R10,000.00 - per cycle - per Poultry House.
According to data: 2.86 tons of CO2 gas are produced with every 1 ton of coal that is burned!

There is a reduction of 28.6 tons in CO2 gases!
Thus: With 8.5 cycles per year with only 2 houses that are insulated with Polyurethane foam, you produce 243 tons of CO2 less per year!
Additional advantage of Polyurethane foam insulation is that the temperature can be better controlled in the Poultry House. This will lower the stress levels of the chicks that assist in better conversion of food to weight gain.
